Top Tech was prompt on keeping the scheduled time. The tech seemed to knowledgeable enough. However, would not send a estimate or quote until we meet with his boss on a second appointment. When we press for a rough estimate it was out of the range on the high side. This is not a two appointment process. Some authorized to quote the job should have came the first time instead of wasting both of our times.

Hector and Rey were both great. They were super friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. No complaints on the actual work and they should both get bonuses. However, scheduling and dispatch weren’t great. I made an appointment online and chose a time window. I never got a confirmation, and when I called to confirm I was told that they don’t actually use time windows. According to the website, my tech would be there between 10am-12pm and he didn’t arrive until 5:30pm. We had a second visit that was scheduled by our tech and was supposed to be for 11-2pm. The installer showed up at 8:30am. This disregard for the client’s time requests and spotty communication by dispatch makes us unlikely to use TopTech in the future. It’s like having a good doctor with bad office and nursing staff.

Customer had a Tesla charger blinking three times which indicates that it was overheating. Customer expected us to come out here and figure out what the issue is first and then tell him how much it cost to fix the issue which I explained it is free for us to come out And assess the the problem, but doesn’t include us troubleshooting or replacing items which then I gave a price to do a minor troubleshoot on the chargers to figure out why it’s overheating. Customer had a quote for $120 to fix the charger but the guy couldn’t make it out today, which is the reasoning he called us and expected it to be around $120.
1. Install dual function breaker Homline 2. Install tandem breaker Homline 3. Replace 3 outlets in kitchen 4. Troubleshoot plugs in kitchen and pigtail 5. Feed wire from main panel to sub Customer was having issue with three kitchen plugs, not working properly and one of them were controlling the fridge. I had to relocate the wire from main panel to subpanel and install dual function breaker. Had to install tandem breaker to make room and panel. Replaced all three plugs and the third plug control in the fridge Was completely burnt and melted and shorting out on the metal box. Explain to customer it is a hazard, especially with aluminum wiring and that the panel is very outdated. Everything is working at this time and will only warranty circuit if he doesn’t use toaster oven or anything major that heats up on that same circuit with the fridge. As long as he doesn’t use anything else, we will warranty the circuit until he gets a dedicated circuit for fridge. We are returning with Ma
Arrived on job site; the customer stated that he was turning breakers on and off while attempting to replace a part in the upstairs bedroom ceiling fan. While identifying which breaker controlled the fan, one breaker failed to reset and would not turn back on, indicating a failed breaker. I informed the customer that, due to the age of the electrical panel, it is common for breakers to fail when tripped or reset, and this can potentially create a domino effect with other breakers. I explained that the long-term solutions would be either replacing the affected breakers or replacing the panel. The customer requested options for breaker replacement as well as smoke detector replacement. For now, I replaced the failed breaker using a customer-supplied breaker, and all affected circuits are operating properly. One breaker shown turned off in the panel photos remains off because the customer is still working on the ceiling fan. I advised the customer that estimates for breaker replacement

Arrived on job site; customer stated that multiple outlets on the same circuit were not working. Performed a standard troubleshoot of the two upstairs bedrooms and identified that the bedroom located to the left at the top of the stairs was affected. Removed the outlets and confirmed zero power. Accessed the attic, traced the wiring, and found the circuit feeding a single outlet in the back bedroom. The outlet located immediately to the right upon entering that room was not feeding through properly. Re-spliced and reconnected the wiring at that outlet, restoring power to the entire circuit. Customer also mentioned having three “smart outlets,” which were determined to be smart thermostats requiring a C wire. Informed the customer that this work falls under HVAC and would require an HVAC technician. Discounted the standard troubleshoot since all outlets were not replaced and the issue was resolved through repair. The outlet in the far bedroom, located in the middle of the home, carrie
Provided photos of completed work to city inspector per her request and passed the final inspector. Will have technician backfill hole by end of day today.
Met inspector and homeowner onsite to pass the final inspection.
Arrived on job site; customer stated that the light switch controlling the back patio porch light was not working properly. Upon inspection, determined it was a smart switch that was continuously blinking and had failed. Customer confirmed that no other devices or circuits in the home were affected and that the switch was the only issue. Replaced the faulty switch with a customer-supplied device. Verified proper operation after installation. Provided the customer with options for adding surge protection. Customer is 100% happy and satisfied with today’s visit.
Customer called us out due to water heater not working for several months, performed whole home safety check to help identify the issue. Went over home safety check with customer to discuss identified hazards, however, a troubleshoot was needed in order to identify and repair power to water heater. During troubleshoot verified power at the panel was correct however there was no power at the water heater. After tracing out the circuit discovered a timer was on the circuit which was turned off, preventing power to the water heater. Bypassed the mechanical timer in order to restore power to the water heater and prevent this issue from reoccurring. Discuss the hazards and need to replace existing panel and overhead service, customer is going to talk with his wife and father and give us a call back to schedule a time for supervisor to come out and give an estimate for the project.
Customer was having flickering lights and plugs not working properly. Explained to customer the only way I could figure out exactly what the issue was is by troubleshooting meter and panel. Left options for customer and she said she’ll have to think about the options. Explained to customer how important the options are to getting taking care of. Options good for 30 days.
Customer had a bad plug in living room that was stab locked and not feeding power out correctly. Replaced the plug and everything worked with no issues. Went through the circuit and replaced all the outlets due to them being stabbed locked. Customer was using iron originally which burnt the stab lock plug. We will only warrantee the circuit as long as he doesn’t use the iron and if he does use the iron there is no warranty on the circuit.
Today we came out to David’s home to look at 3 fixtures he wanted installed 2 on opposite sides of garage and 1 at the front door wall. The 2 by garage didn’t have the proper enclosure so gave estimates and David would like to think about it
