Great Experience from Blake

I am a repeat customer because of the experience I received 2024. My recent experience was even better. My technician, Blake, came out swiftly and returned early on Monday to make sure the job was finished. He is knowledgeable of the field and was personable. I will definitely ask Blake to come out again to perform preventative maintenance next time.

Need Improvement

Top Tech was prompt on keeping the scheduled time. The tech seemed to knowledgeable enough. However, would not send a estimate or quote until we meet with his boss on a second appointment. When we press for a rough estimate it was out of the range on the high side. This is not a two appointment process. Some authorized to quote the job should have came the first time instead of wasting both of our times.

Great techs, bad dispatch and scheduling

Hector and Rey were both great. They were super friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. No complaints on the actual work and they should both get bonuses. However, scheduling and dispatch weren’t great. I made an appointment online and chose a time window. I never got a confirmation, and when I called to confirm I was told that they don’t actually use time windows. According to the website, my tech would be there between 10am-12pm and he didn’t arrive until 5:30pm. We had a second visit that was scheduled by our tech and was supposed to be for 11-2pm. The installer showed up at 8:30am. This disregard for the client’s time requests and spotty communication by dispatch makes us unlikely to use TopTech in the future. It’s like having a good doctor with bad office and nursing staff.

Great Service

I’ve used Top Tech several times due to emergency situations. Today’s service wasn’t an emergency but they are still my first choice for all my electrical needs. Josh took care of what I wanted to accomplish from my bucket list! Very professional and knowledgable!

Monday around 12 Customer had a burnt plug downstairs living room on the left wall closer to the kitchen. She had a space heater plugged into it and then it melted and explained why it space heaters are not good to use unless it’s a dedicated circuit. Also explain the aluminum wiring and the outdated ITE electrical panel. I’m reaching back out to customer on Monday to give her the weekend to go over everything. Will not warranty plug if she keeps using heater, but if not, we will cover for five years.

Customer had a bad GFCI in the garage that was causing garage door not to work and front, back, and side HVAC plug to also not work. Explain to customer we will have to troubleshoot and replace all the outlets but for today we just replaced the GFCI and I’m coming back to replace the rest of the circuit so we don’t have issues in the future. When arrived found that when going through circuit there was stab locked outlets with very loose connections and dry rotted siliconed. Replaced all the outlets in the garage and all the outlets outside and wrapped wires on screws and silicone. Explained to customer stabbed locked outlets are a concern and if the outdoor outlets are like that then the indoor ones will be too and they will need to be addressed. Tested gfci out.et in garage and explained how it works and also explained what it does. There are no issues at this time and 5 year warranty on entire circuit other than internal wiring for the outdoor circuit.

Met inspector onsite and did not pass the final inspection due to ground system not meeting the minimum requirements when the home was not converted to pex and a permit wasn’t pulled. Since we took out permit for the yard line we had to bring the system up to code by installing a second ground rod and an additional whole home shut off at the city side of yard. Per inspector request attached photos to city permit and set up for re-inspection the get the permit closed out. Also while onsite backfilled the open trench.
